Overtime costs at New York state agencies have hit an all-time high. That’s according to a new report from the state comptroller.
Tom DiNapoli says the total cost of overtime in 2021 hit an all-time high of more than $924 million. That’s up nearly 9% from last year.
Total overtime hours worked at state agencies have increased 38% since 2012, while the number of employees has dropped at many major agencies.
