Teen accused of firing gun in Amsterdam
A teen boy is under arrest for allegedly firing a gun in Amsterdam.
Officers responded to a report of shots fired in the area of Lincoln Avenue around 10 p.m. on June 22. Police found evidence at the scene, Amsterdam Police said. No one was hurt.
Investigators found the teen on July 19 and brought him to Montgomery County Youth Part Court. At the time of the crime, his age qualified him to be considered as a juvenile under the state Raise the Age law, police said, so his name will not be released.
The juvenile was charged with criminal possession of a weapon and reckless endangerment.
The investigation is ongoing, investigators said, and more arrests are possible.
