Mechanicville man allegedly violated protection order again

Police have arrested a Mechanicville man for allegedly violating an order of protection for the second time in two months. Richard M. Bartis, 37, is accused of violating the stay-away order. This stemmed from an Aug. 12 incident in Halfmoon Town Park, according to the Saratoga County Sheriff's Office. Bartis was charged with felony aggravated family offense and misdemeanor criminal contempt. He is facing a felony because he has a previous conviction within the last 5 years.

Bartis was charged with felony aggravated family offense and misdemeanor criminal contempt. He is facing a felony because he has a previous conviction within the last 5 years.

Bartis was released on an appearance ticket and is due in Halfmoon Town Court at a later date.

Earlier this month, Bartis was arrested after police said he harassed a person and violated a protection order. The incident occurred on July 6 in Halfmoon.
