Clifton Park man in critical condition after crashing into dump truck

A Clifton Park man is in critical condition after crashing into a dump truck on Route 146 Thursday morning.

The crash happened just before 8 a.m. in the area of Tisdale Lane in Clifton Park. C.J. Purcell, 29, was traveling west on Route 146, when he struck a 2022 Nissan driven by Cindy A. Breslin, 57, also of Clifton Park. As a result of the collision, Purcell’s car veered into the eastbound lane and collided with a 2022 Mack dump truck operated by Twin Bridges Waste and Recycling, according to the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office.

The force of the collision pushed the Hyundai back across the westbound lane and it came to rest on the north side of the road, police said.

Purcell was taken to Albany Medical Center.

The other drivers were not injured.

The Sheriff’s Office Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating the cause of the crash.
