Saratoga Springs Police are warning people to lock their cars after a series of thefts.
At least 17 cars were targeted in the neighborhoods in and around Ingersoll and Old Schuylerville roads. The thieves stole wallets and cash and sometimes went right into opened garages, police said.
All of the vehicles were unlocked.
Police have been canvassing the area searching for surveillance footage.
Police also said they have received numerous reports of car thefts in other locations, including Crescent Street and Grand Avenue. They are seeking video from Aug. 27 between midnight at 5 a.m.
