Police: Two Vermont residents had drugs in stolen vehicle

Two Vermont residents are accused of having illegal drugs in a stolen vehicle.

Ashley J. Brown, 36, was stopped on Broadway in Fort Edward on Sept. 2 around 1:50 a.m. for a traffic violation.

Troopers found drugs and glass smoking devices containing drug residue in the vehicle, which was reported stolen on Sept. 1.

Brown and her passenger Jake F. Desjadon, 37, were charged with criminal possession of stolen property and criminal possession of a controlled substance. Desjadon was also charged with false personation for allegedly giving a fake name to investigators, and Brown was charged with traffic violations.

Desjadon was sent to the Washington County Jail without bail. Brown was released on her own recognizance.
