One in five kids in the United States are experiencing food insecurity.

That is why local organizations are partnering up to help 400 families in need right now.

The Boys & Girls Club of Schenectady is working with Price Rite Marketplace to give out food, hygiene products and school supplies.

The event is part of the Feeding Minds & Bodies Campaign aiming to fight local food insecurity and support healthy childhood development.

“It is a message of hope. It is a reminder that we are all in this together and that by helping each other, we can build a stronger, more resilient community. I want to extend my deepest gratitude to everyone involved in making this event possible,” said Schenectady City School District Superintendent Dr. Carlos Cotto Jr. “Your efforts are making a real difference in the lives of our students and their families and for that, we are profoundly grateful.”

This year marks a decade of Price Rite Marketplace and Feed the Children teaming up and helping more than 40,000 families put food on the table.
