Two people were taken to the hospital following a domestic incident Sunday afternoon in Albany where one person was stabbed.

Police said that it happened around 4:20 p.m. Sunday on the 100 block of Grand Street.

When officers arrived at the scene Sunday afternoon, they found a 37-year-old female with stab wounds with a minor laceration to her hand from stab wounds. A 13-year-old child was also injured at the scene with an injury to her mouth but not from the stabbing. Both were taken to Albany Medical Center for further treatment.

Albany Police told NewsChannel 13 that the incident is domestic related.

Albany Police also said they that have arrested 38-year-old Paul Smith of Albany. Smith is being charged with assault, criminal possession of a weapon, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

Smith will be arraigned in Albany City Criminal Court Monday morning.
