Police: Scotia girl, 14, threatened to shoot up school

A 14-year-old Scotia girl is accused of threatening to shoot up a school.

Scotia Police received a report on Sept. 21 at around 12:30 a.m. regarding a school threat that was posted on TikTok that said “im gonna shoot ur school.” Police traced the threat back to a residence in the village using the IP address.

Police contacted the teen and her parents, who cooperated with the investigation. They gave up two firearms from the residence that were in the residence, but were not in the juvenile’s possession, according to police.

The youth was charged with making a threat of mass harm. Her name is not being released.

This incident is very similar to one in Schenectady, which involved the arrest of a 12-year-old Mont Pleasant Middle School student who made a threat to shoot up a school that he did not name.
