Investigators: Teens too young to drive stole, crashed car in Albany
Two 13-year-olds are accused of stealing a car.
The teens stole the car Wednesday night in Troy and drove to Albany, the Albany Co. Sheriff’s Office said.
The pair were spotted around Second Avenue and Putnam Street during a traffic stop, according to sheriff’s investigators.
Sheriff’s deputies said they tried to pull the teens over, but the teen driver did not stop, hitting three parked cars as they continued to drive.
The teens tried to run away and were eventually arrested. They’re both charged with felony criminal possession of stolen property.
One teen was released to a guardian. The second was turned over to Rensselaer County Sheriff’s Office for an active warrant.
