34-year-old man arrested for rape, supplying victim with cannabis in Moreau

34-year-old Alim Mohammed of Moreau was arrested on Friday for rape, among other charges, in the town of Moreau, said the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office.

Mohammed is accused of engaging in sexual contact with another person by force, said officials.

The Sheriff’s Office says they received a report at 4:01 p.m. of an inactive sexual assault in Lamplighter Acres in Moreau, which investigation led to Mohammed’s arrest.

He is also accused of knowingly acting in a manner likely to be injurious to the physical, mental, or moral welfare of a child under 17-years-old, said police.

Officials say in addition, Mohammed is accused of supplying the victim with alcohol and cannabis.

The Sheriff’s Office says Mohammed was charged with the following:

  • First-degree rape
  • First-degree unlawfully dealing with a child
  • Third-degree criminal sale of cannabis
  • Endangering the welfare of a child

Authorities say he was arraigned in Moreau Town Court and remanded to the Saratoga County Jail pending further action in the matter.
