Albany women indicted in $50K grand larceny scheme

Two Albany women were indicted on grand larceny charges Wednesday in Albany County Court.

Zamaria Williams, 22, and Winter Vandross, 19, both pled not guilty to the sealed indictment alleging their involvement in a massive retail theft scheme.

According to the indictments, the women would steal merchandise from area stores, including Dick’s Sporting Goods, Kohl’s, and Ulta Beauty, and then pawn them off on others who would sell them on Facebook Marketplace.

A source told NewsChannel 13 the thefts totaled more than $50,000, which is more than enough to warrant grand larceny charges.

The women were released on supervision of the Albany County Probation Department.
