Man gets hefty prison sentence in Berkshire County hammer attack murder
The man found guilty of murdering his estranged wife in Berkshire County could spend the rest of his life in prison.
NewsChannel 13 confirmed that Michael Cook Sr. was sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole after 25 years for killing his wife Charli Cook.
She died in 2019 after being in a coma for 5 months.
The cause of death was a brain injury, caused by Cook Sr. hitting her in the head with a hammer.
The Commonwealth asked for another 18 to 20 years to be added to the sequence, so each charge was served consecutively, but a judge denied the request.
