New live music, event spot opens in downtown Albany

Ophelia’s opens in Albany

Ophelia's opens in Albany at the site of the former Parish Public House.

A new live music and event venue called Ophelia’s has opened in downtown Albany.

Owner Shane Spillenger chose the location at 388 Broadway because of its proximity to MVP Arena and future development plans of the downtown area.

The location was formerly known as the Parish Public House, and Red Square.

Spillenger plans on making some changes including making the space more family-friendly and catering some events toward kids.

He founded PearlPalooza in 2009, and he also owns Nanola, a restaurant and bar in Malta.
