Gloversville cop accused of improper records access considers plea
The Gloversville police officer accused of accessing records is weighing a potential plea deal in the case.
Chance Petteys has been charged with computer trespass, unauthorized use of a computer and tampering with public records. Petteys allegedly used the information on the computer to contact people in a “unprofessional manner” after police interactions. He also turned off his body camera, police said.
Petteys was in Gloversville City Court on Oct. 7 for plea negotiations.
There was no information on the plea offered.
He is due back in court on Jan. 15.
Petteys is on administrative leave.
