Man gets 1 to 3 years in prison for violating protection order twice in two days

A Ballston Spa man who violated an order of protection twice in two days was sentenced on Monday to 1 to 3 years in prison.

Daryl Belanger, 34, was arrested after police said he showed up at a residence on Rowland Street in the town of Milton in violation of the order on July 12.

After being released on his own recognizance, Belanger returned to that residence again.

Belanger was facing a felony criminal contempt charge because of a previous conviction within the last five years.

Belanger pleaded guilty in Saratoga County Court in August to criminal contempt.
