Police: Man had loaded handgun at motel in arrest at Motel 6.

A Schenectady man is facing weapons charges.

Colonie Police officers were patrolling the Motel 6 parking lot on 1600 Central Ave. when they found an occupied vehicle running without license plates or registration attached. The officers spoke with Desmond D. Terry, 25, who was the occupant of the vehicle. Terry had a loaded handgun that was previously reported stolen from Kissimmee, Florida, police said. Terry did not have a permit to possess the firearm.

Terry was charged with criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of stolen property. He was arraigned in Colonie Town Court sent to Albany County Jail pending a preliminary hearing.
