A prominent Saratoga Black Lives Matter activist was arrested on Thursday for allegedly pointing a rifle at a person.

Lexis Figuereo was arrested following an alleged argument with another person, Schenectady Police said.

He was charged with misdemeanors of criminal possession of a weapon and menacing, and is due to appear in Schenectady City Court on Nov. 15.

Figuereo has been active in social justice protests. He is a plaintiff in a federal civil rights lawsuit that Saratoga Black Lives Matter brought against the city, because they said their rights were infringed upon during social justice protests. They said that the city arrested members of the organization and retaliated against BLM members.

Lexis Figuereo declined directly to talk with NewsChannel 13.

His lawyer did say, “Lexis and his partner were assaulted and injured during the incident, and they will be filing charges. They are confident facts of the case will vindicate them. ”
