Police: Albany woman intentionally hit neighbor with car

A 34-year-old Albany woman is accused of intentionally striking her neighbor with her car, which crashed into an apartment.

It happened around 8:30 a.m. Thursday near the intersection of Lark Drive and Manning Boulevard. The 28-year-old man had serious head injuries. He was treated on scene and taken to hospital with serious head injuries. He is in critical condition, according to Albany Police.

Police said the victim was walking on the west side sidewalk, when Brittany Hawkins drove up onto it and struck him before crashing into an apartment at the Upper Sky Line Apartments.

Hawkins and victim had apparently been arguing just before the assault, police said.

Hawkins was arrested at the scene and charged with attempted murder. She was arraigned in Albany City Criminal Court and sent to Albany County Jail.
