Police: Albany man stabbed woman in the neck

An Albany man has been arrested for allegedly stabbing a woman. Johnathan Bonaparte, 33, is accused of stabbing a 40-year-old woman around 4:30 p.m. Thursday on the 300 block of South Pearl Street near Bassett Street. The woman had a stab wound to her neck, police said. She was treated on scene and taken to Albany Medical Center.

Johnathan Bonaparte, 33, is accused of stabbing a 40-year-old woman around 4:30 p.m. Thursday on the 300 block of South Pearl Street near Bassett Street. The woman had a stab wound to her neck, police said. She was treated on scene and taken to Albany Medical Center.

Bonaparte ran away but was caught in the area of Green Street and Bassett Street.

Police said Bonaparte knew the victim and there was a dispute between them. 

Bonaparte was charged with attempted murder, attempted assault, assault and criminal possession of a weapon.

He was arraigned in Albany City Criminal Court on Friday morning and sent to Albany County Jail.
