The Jennings Creek fire is 88% contained as fire crews continue to battle it.
The Jennings Creek fire near the New York-New Jersey border is now 88% contained.
The fire has burned around 5,300 acres to date. It is primarily contained in the Sterling Forest State Park.
New York Air National Guard and New York State Police helicopters are assisting in collecting water to dump on the fire, according to the Department of Environmental Conservation.
Local fire departments have assisted in the efforts.
