Schenectady man admits to sending video of youth having sex
A Schenectady man admitted to sending a sexually explicit video of a child to another person.
Tyreik Blackmon, 30, pleaded guilty in Schenectady County Court on Tuesday to two counts of promoting a sexual performance by a child as a sexually motivated felony.
Blackmon, also known as “Elise,” sent a video on Nov. 2, 2023 to another person who he was chatting with on an online dating app, according to the Schenectady County District Attorney’s Office. The video showed an adult engaging in sexual conduct with a child under the age of 17.
Under the terms of the plea, Blackmon will receive a sentence of 7 years in prison and 10 years of post-release supervision.
Investigators were not able to identify the person on the video.
The plea covers nine other counts related to image of child pornography on his phone.
Blackmon will have to register as a sex offender and have no conduct with the person on the video.
Blackmon is scheduled to be sentenced on Jan. 28.
