Weather helps efforts to tame Great Barrington wildfire

The rain and snow has helped in efforts to put out the Great Barrington wildfire.

The fire department said on Facebook that patrols continued on Thanksgiving Day. They anticipated that steam and fog would be rising from hot spots. There was no cause for concern.

People were still advised to stay out of the fire area.

The department also shared that children have flooded the station with cards, drawings and letters to show their support. “There is no better feeling than returning to the station after a long hard day of work to an overwhelming display of inspiration.”
