Albany’s police chief says goodbye
Albany's top cop is serving the city for the last time. Chief Eric Hawkins' official last day was Sunday.
He's leaving to become the police commissioner in Warren, Michigan.
The department held a piping out ceremony last week to congratulate him on his new job, and to thank him for the six years he spent leading the Albany Police Department.
Hawkins is the longest serving police chief in Albany in the last four decades.
