The Great Barrington Fire Department is pulling back from the Butternut Wildfire.

The wildfire burning for two weeks in Southern Berkshire County is now under control, they said. The flames are not expected to spread any farther.

The fire has burned more than 1,600 acres, spanning more than three miles, they said.

No buildings were damaged, and no firefighters were injured while fighting the fire, they said.

The area of the wildfire is still dangerous according to the fire department. They’re asking people to keep avoiding the area.
