An Albany bakery announced that it’s closing after two years, unless the owner gets some help.

Shannon Dowen-Ronda, the owner of Nyx; A Scratch Baking Co., said she is still hoping to get help to prevent the closure before the end of the year.

When she started the bakery in 2021, she started selling products at local farmer’s markets. Eventually, she was able to open a storefront on Lark Street, with a variety of baked goods.

However, despite community support, she said it comes down to needing to find someone who is able to come up with a business and marketing plan. She said she needs help creating business hours that can help prevent burnout.

If the store does close by the end of the year, she will still keep baking for others, she said.
