Ballston Spa man arrested on substance charges, assault
The Ballston Spa Police Department says they arrested Tyrone C. Myette, 38, of Ballston Spa on a variety of controlled substance charges, as well as assault and resisting arrest.
Police responded to a call from a resident on Grove Street on December 11 regarding a man attempting to gain access through a side door of the residence.
When authorities arrived, they say they observed Myette riding away on an electric scooter. He attempted to flee the area, but police quickly apprehended him.
While police were attempting to him, a struggle ensued, and two Ballston Spa PD officers sustained minor injuries. Both officers were treated and released from Saratoga Hospital, said police.
Myette was charged with the following:
- Second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance
- Two counts of second-degree assault with the intent to cause physical injury to an officer
- Two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a narcotic with the intent to sell
- Third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance
- Two counts of resisting arrest
- Trespass
Police add that Myette was in possession of 206 grams of crystal methamphetamine and 18.8 grams of cocaine.
Myette was arraigned in the Town of Milton Court and remanded to the Saratoga County Correctional Facility without bail. He has a return court date in the Village of Ballston Spa Justice Court on December 16 at 5:30 p.m.
