Pittsfield man gets up to 4 years for assault, stealing car

A Pittsfield man was sentenced last week to up to 4 years in prison for hitting a person and kicking their dog.

Tyrone Jones, 38, pleaded guilty on Dec. 10 in Berkshire Superior Court for the Oct. 14, 2023 incident. He became violent with a person he lived with, prosecutors said. He also destroyed the inside of the house and stole the victim’s car, according to the Berkshire County District Attorney’s Office.

Jones was found not guilty at trial of trafficking cocaine.
