Guilderland man faces assault charges after fight
A Guilderland man is facing multiple charges after an alleged assault.
State Police responded to a home in Guilderland on Dec. 15 just before 2:15 p.m. for a report of a disturbance. Jacklin D. Louissaint, 27, is accused of fighting with multiple people who were attempting to restrain him.
Police said Louissaint charged at troopers who were attempting to arrest him.
The investigation determined that Louissaint broke a window to get into an occupied building, police said. He then allegedly hit people he knew, fled the building and went into the road. Multiple bystanders tried to help. Good Samaritans removed the victims from the scene and others tried to restrain Louissaint until police arrived.
Louissaint was charged with two counts of assault, as well as burglary, criminal mischief, resisting arrest and obstructing governmental administration. He was arraigned in Guilderland Town Court and sent to Albany County Jail in lieu of bail set at $2,000 cash, $10,000 bond or $20,000 partially secured bond.
