Hazmat team responds to Coxsackie prison after four employees sicked
An investigation is under way after a letter sent to Coxsackie Correctional Facility caused four people to fall ill on Friday.
A staff member opened the letter and began to feel ill, according to Department of Corrections and Community Supervision spokesman Thomas Mailey. Three other nearby staff members also felt nauseous. The Greene County hazmat team responded to the scene.
Three of the four staff members were sent to a local hospital for treatment.
The investigation is ongoing.
