Project Rise has expanded to three communities in New York state: Troy, Utica, and Hempstead.
Support is also continuing for seven other communities, including Albany.
Each community in “Project Rise” will receive $2 million to help improve public safety in cities affected heavily by gun violence.
This includes strengthening neighborhoods, building grassroots programs, and increasing opportunities for kids, teens, and families.
The project has already been underway in Albany, Buffalo, Mount Vernon, Newburgh, Rochester, Syracuse and Yonkers.
