Albany Med tightens visitor policies amid winter illnesses

New visitor policies began at Albany Med on Monday.

New visitor policies began at Albany Med on Monday.

Because of a recent uptick in winter illnesses, Albany Med said anyone who has flu-like symptoms should not visit.

Only two people are allowed in a patient’s room, and children younger than 12 cannot visit.

Everyone must wash their hands and use hand sanitizer when entering and exiting the hospital.

Glens Falls Hospital also has temporary restrictions in place. Any visitor with respiratory or flu-like symptoms, such as fever, sore throat, cough, or shortness of breath, will not be allowed in.
