Police: Schoharie County man sent explicit pictures to child, fired gun

A Schoharie County man is accused of sending explicit pictures to a child and firing a gun in separate incidents.

State Police said Christopher C. Brewer, 47, of Blenheim, was having inappropriate conversations of a sexual nature with a child under the age of 16. Brewer allegedly sent explicit photos including pictures of himself. The communications happened over the course of several months, according to police.

In addition, Brewer is accused of displaying a long gun during an argument with the victim on Nov. 1. As the person was leaving, Brewer fired the gun, police said.

Brewer was arrested on Jan. 9 and charged with disseminating indecent material to minors, endangering the welfare of a child, criminal possession of a weapon, menacing and reckless endangerment. 

Brewer was arraigned in Schoharie County Centralized Arraignment Court and released to the supervision of Schoharie County Probation Department.
