They told police that a fight occurred in the parking lot outside an apartment complex, and a man ran away from the scene and into one of the nearby apartments. Solomon Jones III, 32, allegedly pulled out a gun on the victims and was making threats. He then struck both of them in the head and kicked one of them when they were on the ground, police said.

Pittsfield Police officers responded to 10 Francis Ave. on Sunday at 7:38 p.m. When they arrived, they saw two people with facial injuries. They told police that a fight occurred in the parking lot outside an apartment complex, and a man ran away from the scene and into one of the nearby apartments.

Solomon Jones III, 32, allegedly pulled out a gun on the victims and was making threats. He then struck both of them in the head and kicked one of them when they were on the ground, police said.

Jones refused to come out of the apartment, according to police. Officers forced entry after a standoff, and he was arrested. They found a gun in the apartment.

The two victims were taken to Berkshire Medical Center for treatment.

Jones was charged with four counts of assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon, threat to commit crime: murder, carrying a firearm without a license, possession of ammunition without an FID card and improper storage of a firearm.
