Birthdays and anniversaries, in what way do you play the lottery?

The Mega Millions jackpot has soared to $1.28 billion. This is the second-largest prize in lottery history.

Although the odds of winning the jackpot are slim, that didn’t stop people from waiting in line to play their lucky numbers.

“This could be the spot. I could win right now,” said Zach Long.

A number of customers came to Coulson’s hoping that history would repeat itself.  Back in 2011, a group of state workers hit it big and won over $300 million at Coulson’s.

“One time, I was working around the corner when it hit. So every time it gets really big, I come to the store, just to play,” said Margo Dickson.

Mega Millions tickets are just $2. The drawing was set for 11 p.m. Friday evening.
