Cohoes woman indicted in Albany County DA’s first deed theft case
A Cohoes woman is accused of stealing properties through deed theft.
Roalynda Langley, 52, was arraigned on a 12-count indictment alleging that she stole three separate properties in the city of Cohoes.
Albany County District Attorney Lee Kindlon said in a statement that this is the office’s first case of its kind since the state amended the law to designate deed theft as a larceny.
Langley is facing three counts each of grand larceny, offering a false instrument for filing, criminal possession of a forged instrument and identity theft.
She was arraigned Albany County Court and released on her own recognizance. She is due back in court on March 25.
If convicted, she faces up to 30 years in prison.
