First case of presumed monkeypox detected in Schenectady County

Schenectady County is reporting its first presumed case of monkeypox.

The Schenectady County Health Department says they’re following up according to CDC and Department of Health guidelines.

They say all potential contacts are being identified, and the risk to the general public is low.

Gov. Hochul declared a state disaster emergency last month in response to the outbreak.
