ALBANY – The goal of CanCode Communities is expanding access to career opportunities in software development.
A local nonprofit training adults in computer coding in partnership with BOCES.
They just opened a new office on Warren Street in Albany’s South End, hoping to bring more minorities into high-tech careers.
"We know that many people still need access to technology tools, so we provide our students with loaner laptops. So they’ll come here, they’ll be able to get their technology. We even offer hot spot internet access if people don’t have access to the internet to take our programs," said Annmarie Lanesey with CanCode Communities.
The Albany Housing Authority is providing full scholarships for two of its residents who are interested in enrolling in classes at CanCode.
