Albany to waive parking ticket in exchange for COVID vaccine proof

If you have a parking ticket in the city of Albany, you can get it waived by showing proof that you got the COVID vaccine.

The city has about 90,000 outstanding tickets, dating back to 2010. That’s about $9 million.

If you have multiple parking tickets, you can only get one waived through this incentive.

The goal is to get closer to that rate of 70% of the city fully vaccinated.

The ticket must have happened before Monday. No tickets issued after that will be waived.

In addition, only one parking ticket you have will be waived.

The new incentive is stirring up some strong opinions. Hear some of them by watching the video of Subrina Dhammi’s story.
