Two years ago, a teacher brought an idea to the principal’s attention. Instead of a regular vending machine, how about one that dispenses reading material?

When kids recently came in for class, the 700-pound machine appeared, making the day of many students

Here’s how it works. Shelves are full of favorites. Each teacher is given gold coins, which they give out to students who have a wonderful workweek. The incentive is motivation for many students to stay focused.
