CNN fires Chris Cuomo

CNN has fired disgraced New York Governor Andrew Cuomo’s brother, Chris Cuomo.

CNN posted a statement to its website around 5 p.m. on Saturday.

"Chris Cuomo was suspended earlier this week pending further evaluation of new information that came to light about his involvement with his brother’s defense. We retained a respected law firm to conduct the review, and have terminated him, effective immediately. While in the process of that review, additional information has come to light. Despite the termination, we will investigate as appropriate."

While details of Chris Cuomo’s involvement with the Governor’s office were reported months ago, the specifics came to light on Monday. Documents released by New York’s Attorney General after her investigation showed while Chris Cuomo was working as one of CNN’s top anchors, he was also effectively working as an unpaid aide to the Governor.
