Guilderland native Andrew Platek suffers torn Achilles’ tendon

Guilderland native and Siena guard Andrew Platek will miss the rest of the season after tearing his Achilles’ tendon on December 3rd against Manhattan. The team announced the injury today and said Platek had surgery to repair the injury on Friday. The graduate transfer came to Siena in the fall after playing four season at North Carolina. In five games with the Saints, Platek was averaging 9 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.8 assists a game.
