Pair arrested in connection with Tuesday’s crash near 787

State police have arrested two men in connection with a police chase that ended in a crash on 787.
State police say they tried to pull 28-year-old Douglas El Shaquille from Albany for a traffic violation on Northern Boulevard. However, the chase started when he took off.
Police say he crashed into another vehicle near Exit 3B on 787.
El Shaquille is charged with reckless endangerment.
His passenger is identified as 20-year-old Drew Greene from Troy.

Both are charged with criminal possession of a loaded weapon and criminal possession of a controlled substance.
They were taken to Albany Med for evaluation.
The driver of the other vehicle was also taken to Albany Med with non-life threatening injuries.
