Stella Porter joined NewsChannel 13 as a Reporter in September 2021. She considers moving to the Capital Region like coming home, as she grew up in New Jersey and attended school in New York City.

Before moving to the Capital Region, Stella worked as the weekend anchor and multimedia journalist at the CBS/FOX affiliate in Wausau, Wisconsin. There she covered the 2020 election as both the Biden and Trump campaigns sought to win over the swing state.

Stella graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a B.A. in Journalism. She’s from a family of die-hard Badger fans! She also studied Spanish language in college and is fluent.

When she’s not reporting, Stella enjoys cooking, musical theater (especially Broadway!), reading about politics and American history, and spending time with her family. She is happy to be closer to home and living in beautiful upstate New York.
