State Senator Jim Tedisco and Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara continue to advocate for 1,100 retirees at the former St. Clare’s Hospital in Schenectady.
They lost some or all of their pension after the hospital closed about 10 years ago.
Tedisco, Santabarbara and the St. Clare’s Pensioners Recovery Alliance have sent a letter to Gov. Hochul asking for a meeting to address the situation.
Tedisco says the American Rescue Plan passed by Congress provided $86 million to help workers secure their failing pension plans. However, it provided no money for the St. Clare’s pension.
