Albany Academy’s athletic director, Paul Gallucci, told NewsChannel 13’s Rodger Wyland that varsity girls’ basketball head coach Bryan Capitula is taking a leave of absence. His return to the team is to be determined. Capitula took over the program in 2020. He led the Bears to their first state championship appearance last season where they came up short against Utica Notre Dame. Assistant head coach Gerry Viene will take over as head coach in the interim.
