Christian Brothers Academy honored late and beloved head coach Casey O’Connor with a field dedication ceremony Monday ahead the varsity baseball game against Columbia. The Brothers’ baseball field has been renamed to the Casey O’Connor Field. O’Connor, who led the baseball program for over a decade, lost his battle with colon cancer in June at the age of 48. Members of the CBA community, including O’Connor’s family and friends, players, coaches and faculty remembered the coach’s life and legacy.

Following the ceremony, the Brothers trounced the Blue Devils 18-5 in the Coaches vs Cancer game. Proceeds raised will be donated to the American Cancer Society in O’Connor’s honor.
