A group of 24 Section II athletes competed Thursday in the first full-fledged girls' state wrestling tournament at MVP Arena in Albany.
A group of 24 Section II athletes competed Thursday in the first full-fledged girls’ state wrestling tournament at MVP Arena in Albany.
More than 200 girls from all over the state competed in 13 weight classes in the inaugural state championships. Twenty-four of them represented 13 schools from Section II. Four of them advanced to the state finals. And all three who entered as No. 1 seeds captured state titles.
