One day after firing interim head coach Damon Ware, Albany Empire owner Antonio Brown has an agreement in principle with previous head coach Tom Menas to fill the role.

Ware was fired as the team returned from their weekend loss against Carolina.

NewsChannel 13 reported Monday that Antonio Brown was considering giving the job to his father, “Touchdown” Eddie Brown.

When NewsChannel 13 sports director Rodger Wyland spoke to Eddie Brown, the Albany Firebirds legend sounded uncertain about taking the job.

Wyland then spoke to Antonio Brown and asked, if not Eddie Brown then who? Antonio Brown said he’s now considering bringing back Menas.

The Empire fired Menas 10 days before the season started, despite his record of leading the team to back-to-back championships.
