A new adaptive playground opened at Southgate Elementary School on Friday.

It was made possible through a $125,000 grant.

The playground is designed to be inclusive for students of all abilities. It fulfills the vision of late Coach

Pete Mravlja, a beloved physical education teacher who worked tirelessly to ensure all students felt part of the Southgate community.

A plaque shaped like a baseball jersey will be displayed on the playground in the coach’s name.
